Eight local high school baseball teams will play games at Great American Ball Park in the second annual "Big League Weekend" on April 15 and 16.
The games kick off Friday, April 15 with Elder vs. McNicholas at 4 p.m. followed by Harrison vs. St. Xavier at 7 p.m.
The two games on Saturday, April 16 feature Clark Montessori vs. Hughes at 10 a.m. followed by Lakota West vs. Oak Hills at 1 p.m.
"It's important that we continue to support baseball at all levels across Reds Country including local high school baseball," said Phil Castellini, Reds Chief Operating Officer. "We are proud to host the eight teams and provide the opportunity to play on the same field as the Reds big leaguers."
The individual schools are selling tickets to the games though their athletic departments and for each ticket sold, a portion will be donated back to that school.
Fans can also purchase tickets at the GABP ticket windows beginning one hour before the games on Friday and Saturday.
The eight teams are among 92 schools playing in the annual Skyline Chili Reds Futures High School Showcase presented by Cincinnati Children's Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics.
Now in its fifth year, the Showcase features Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Southeast Indiana and Dayton high school baseball and softball teams playing games from April 2 - 30.
All players and coaches from the 92 teams are invited to GABP on Sunday, April 24 to participate in a "March at the Majors" parade around the field prior to the Reds vs. Chicago Cubs game. MVPs from the Showcase games will be recognized on field during pregame ceremonies.
Media interested in covering the games should enter GABP at the Dock #3 security entrance on Pete Rose Way.
