RHP Chris Bassitt scheduled for UCL surgery tomorrow

Oakland A's right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt was seen today by Dr. Timothy Kremchek in Cincinnati.

Oakland A's right-handed pitcher Chris Bassitt was seen today by Dr. Timothy Kremchek in Cincinnati. Dr. Kremchek is of the opinion that Bassitt needs ulnar collateral ligament replacement surgery on his right elbow and the surgery is scheduled to take place tomorrow at Beacon Orthopedics. Additional details will be available following the surgery.
Bassitt was 0-2 with a 6.11 ERA and .294 opponents batting average in five starts with the A's. He allowed a career-high seven runs on a career-high 10 hits in just 3.2 innings April 28 in a start and loss at Detroit and went on the disabled list the next day. Bassitt did not have a decision over his first three starts, logging a 2.79 ERA, but is 0-2 with a 13.50 ERA over his last two starts.
