Nationals Reinstate OF Ben Revere

The Washington Nationals returned from rehab and reinstated outfielder Ben Revere from the 15-day disabled list on Friday and optioned outfielder Matt den Dekker to Triple-A Syracuse.

The Washington Nationals returned from rehab and reinstated outfielder Ben Revere from the 15-day disabled list on Friday and optioned outfielder Matt den Dekker to Triple-A Syracuse. Nationals President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.
Revere, 28, returns to the Nationals after missing 27 games with a right oblique strain suffered on Opening Day in Atlanta. The speedy outfielder registered two Major League at-bats this season before his injury and played in five rehab games with Triple-A Syracuse. During his Minor League assignment, Revere went 3-for-16 (.188) with one RBI, one walk, one stolen base and one run scored.
Revere was acquired by Washington on Jan. 8, 2016. He hit .306 with 22 doubles, seven triples, two home runs, 45 RBI, 31 stolen bases and 84 runs scored in 152 games in 2015 between the Philadelphia Phillies and Toronto Blue Jays.
den Dekker appeared in 17 games for Washington, hitting .194 (6-for-31) with one double, one home run, four RBI, three walks, one stolen base and one run scored. He clubbed his first career leadoff home run, April 24 vs. Minnesota. In his first game of the season, den Dekker stepped off the plane to lace a go-ahead, pinch-hit double in the seventh inning in Washington's 3-1 win over Atlanta on April 6.
