Braves Name Buddy Carlyle as Coaching Assistant

The Atlanta Braves have named former Major League pitcher Buddy Carlyle as a Coaching Assistant.

The Atlanta Braves have named former Major League pitcher Buddy Carlyle as a Coaching Assistant. Carlyle will be in uniform for all pre-game workouts and will assist with the Braves' scouting preparations. He will also manage the Braves' instant replay protocol from an off-field location during all games.
Carlyle, 38, pitched in 83 games (20 starts) for the Braves from 2007-09. His Major League career spanned parts of nine seasons, from 1999 to 2015, and included 150 appearances (27 starts).
Originally drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the second round of the 1996 draft, Carlyle made his big-league debut with the San Diego Padres in 1999. He pitched for the New York Mets the last two seasons (2014-15).
