The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Major League roster:
 
Recalled RHP Shawn Armstrong(#51) from AAA Columbus.  
 
Optioned LHP Ryan Merritt to AAA Columbus.
 
Armstrong, 25, has spent the entire season to date with Triple-A Columbus, going 0-1 with 3 saves and a 2.50 ERA in 16 relief outings (18.0IP, 12H, 6R/5ER, 17BB, 30K, .188 avg). He has posted an ERA of 1.50 over his last 11 games since April 25 (12.0IP, 7H, 2ER, 19K) and has limited left-handed hitters to a .094 (3-32) average against for the season.
