Hall-of-Famer Frank Thomas serves up competition in BBQ Battle at ballpark

Preparing for the release of his upcoming grill guide, The Big Hurt's Guide to BBQ and Grilling, White Sox legend and Hall-of-Fame slugger Frank Thomas will compete against celebrity chef Jeff Mauro, the "Sandwich King," in a BBQ Battle before the White Sox take on the Kansas City Royals on Friday, June 10 at U.S. Cellular Field.

Preparing for the release of his upcoming grill guide, The Big Hurt's Guide to BBQ and Grilling, White Sox legend and Hall-of-Fame slugger Frank Thomas will compete against celebrity chef Jeff Mauro, the "Sandwich King," in a BBQ Battle before the White Sox take on the Kansas City Royals on Friday, June 10 at U.S. Cellular Field.
Fans are invited to see The Big Hurt take on the Sandwich King in the grilling challenge and sample grilling goodies served up during the event. Tickets to the BBQ Battle are available for $30 at whitesox.com/BBQBattle and include access to the centerfield Fan Deck for both the pre-game BBQ Battle and the game.

Mauro, a Chicago native and White Sox fan, is the host of the Food Network series "Sandwich King," "$24 in 24 Hours" and "The Scoop." He was the winner of the seventh season of the Food Network Star competition. Mauro also is the co-owner of the Chicago sandwich shop, Pork & Mindy's at 1623 N. Milwaukee in Chicago.
