Statement from the New York Mets regarding third baseman David Wright

Mets third baseman David Wright has been placed on the Disabled List retroactive to May 30 with a herniated disk in his neck. The injury will require six-to-eight weeks of rest from baseball activities during which David will undergo appropriate physiotherapy to protect the area. After the rest period, David will resume baseball activity.
