The San Diego Padres today selected 30 players on the third and final day of Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft and 43 players overall in the Draft, including SS Quinn Hoffman out of Cathedral Catholic High School (CA) in the 36^th round, son of Padres legend Trevor Hoffman.
During the three-day First Year Player Draft, the Padres drafted two catchers, 10 infielders and seven outfielders. San Diego selected 24 pitchers in the draft, including 16 right-handed pitchers and eight left-handed pitchers. In all, the club selected 28 college players and 15 out of high school.
