Mariners announce signings of 13 of 40 draft picks

Seattle Mariners Director of Amateur Scouting Tom McNamara announced today that the club has signed 13 of the club's 40 selections from last week's Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft.

Seattle Mariners Director of Amateur Scouting Tom McNamara announced today that the club has signed 13 of the club's 40 selections from last week's Major League Baseball's First-Year Player Draft.
The 13 signings include 5 of the top 10 selections and 8 of the top 20. All Major League teams have until July 15, 2016 (2 p.m. PT) to sign drafted players with remaining college eligibility.
The Mariners selected 19 pitchers, including 6 left-handers, 4 catchers, 8 infielders (1 2B, 4 SS, 3 3B), and 9 outfielders. Seattle selected 29 college players and 11 high school players.
