OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's agreed to terms with their fourth round selection in the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, right-handed pitcher Skylar Szynski from Penn High School in Indiana, and their 16^th round pick, outfielder Anthony Churlin from Island Coast High School in Florida.
Szynski went 10-1 with a 2.47 ERA for Penn HS and was named Northern Indiana Conference MVP. He had 81 strikeouts in 68.0 innings and surrendered just one home run. Szynski went 27-4 with a 2.04 ERA in his high school career, which included a no-hitter and a perfect game.
The A's have now signed or agreed to terms with 30 of their 41 selections from the draft, including 17 of the first 20. The only players in the A's first 20 picks that have not signed are playing in the College World Series with Florida (A.J. Puk and Logan Shore) and Texas Tech (Ty Damron).
