Braves Agree to Terms with 2016 First-Round Draft Selection Ian Anderson

The Braves have signed 32 of their draft selections, including each of their top 10 picks and 27 of their top 30, from the 2016 First-Year Player Draft.

The Atlanta Braves agreed to terms today with their first-round draft selection from the 2016 First-Year Player Draft, RHP Ian Anderson. The deal is pending a physical. Anderson, 18, graduated from Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park, N.Y., yesterday afternoon. Anderson will be available to the media on Saturday, June 25th, at approximately 5:30 p.m. in the Braves dugout.
Following the 2016 draft, Anderson went on to help lead the Shenendehowa High School baseball team to its first New York Class AA State Championship. On Saturday, June 11, Anderson tossed 7.0 scoreless innings in a state semifinal game.
The Braves have signed 32 of their draft selections, including each of their top 10 picks and 27 of their top 30, from the 2016 First-Year Player Draft. Of the 32 signed players, 19 are pitchers (11 right-handers, eight left-handers), seven are infielders, two are catchers and four are outfielders. Overall, 24 players signed were selected out of college, while the remaining eight were drafted out of high school.
The signing deadline for amateur drafted players is July 15, at 5:00 p.m. EST.
