Indians claim Tyler Olson off waivers

Olson 26, has split the 2016 season between the NY Yankees and KC Royals organizations after being acquired by the Yankees over the winter from the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The Indians today claimed LHP TYLER OLSON on outright waivers from the Kansas City Royals and optioned him to Triple-A Columbus. 
Olson 26, has split the 2016 season between the NY Yankees and KC Royals organizations after being acquired by the Yankees over the winter from the Los Angeles Dodgers. He spent spring training and the first part of the season in the Yankees organization, making one appearance with New York-AL on April 15 vs. Seattle (2.2IP, 3H, 2R/ER) before being claimed by the Royals on June 14 and optioned to AAA Omaha. He made 5 appearances with Omaha before being designated for assignment on July 5 prior to today's waiver claim.
The Spokane, WA native and Gonzaga alum spent the first three years of his professional career in the Seattle organization, making 11 relief appearances for the Mariners in 2015 (5.40 ERA, 13.1IP, 18H, 8R/ER, 10BB, 8K).   The 40-man roster is at 39 currently.
