SAN FRANCISCO, CA - The San Francisco Giants have acquired left-handed pitcher Matt Moore from the Tampa Bay Rays in exchange for infielder Matt Duffy, minor leaguer infielder Lucius Fox and right-handed pitcher Michael Santos, club Senior Vice President and General Manager Bobby Evans announced today.
Moore, 27, has gone 7-7 with a 4.08 ERA (59er, 130.0ip) in 21 starts for the Rays this season. He has been solid in his last nine starts, posting a 5-3 mark with a 2.39 ERA (16er, 60.1ip) and is holding opponents to just a .199 batting average during this stretch.
The Fort Walton Beach, Florida native has thrown at least 6.0 innings in his last 10 starts, extending the longest such streak of his career. He has posted a quality start in eight of those 10 outings and held opponents to two runs or fewer in seven of those appearances.
The lefty had a career year in 2013, going 17-4 with a 3.29 ERA (55er, 150.1ip) and was named to the American League All-Star team. He missed most of the 2014 season and part of 2015 after undergoing "Tommy John Surgery" on April 22, 2014, which was performed by Dr. James Andrews in Birmingham, AL.
Moore was drafted by Tampa Bay in the eighth round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. He has posted a 39-28 record with a 3.88 ERA (233er, 540.0ip) in 96 games (94 starts) in six seasons in a Rays uniform.  
Duffy, 25, finished second in the NL Rookie of the Year race last season, as he hit .295 with 12 home runs and 77 RBI. This season he was hitting .253 (65-for-257) with four home runs and 21 RBI in 70 games. He had missed the last 35 games with a left Achilles strain.
Fox, 19, was hitting .207 (59-for-285) with 12 extra-base hits in 75 games with Class A Augusta this season. The Bahamian shortstop was signed by the Giants as a non-drafted free agent on July 2, 2015 and entered the 2016 season ranked by Baseball America as the Giants' fourth-best prospect.
Santos, 21, has gone 4-2 with a 2.91 ERA (19er, 58.2ip) in 10 starts for Class A Augusta this season. Signed by the Giants as a non-drafted free agent in 2012, the Dominican Republic native has posted a career 9-9 record with a 2.84 ERA (56er, 177.2ip) in 37 career minor league appearances.
