Pirates acquire RHP Drew Hutchison from the Blue Jays

The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Drew Hutchison from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano, minor league catcher Reese McGuire and minor league outfielder Harold Ramirez.

The Pittsburgh Pirates today acquired right-handed pitcher Drew Hutchison from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for left-handed pitcher Francisco Liriano, minor league catcher Reese McGuire and minor league outfielder Harold Ramirez. The announcement was made by Pirates Executive Vice President, General Manager Neal Huntington.
The 25-year-old Hutchison went 6-5 with a 3.26 ERA (102.0ip/37er) in 18 starts with Triple-A Buffalo this season and 1-0 with a 4.97 ERA (12.2ip/7er) in three games (two starts) with Toronto. His most recent start came with Buffalo on Thursday, July 28 (6.0ip - 103 pitches).
Hutchison won a career-high 13 games with the Blue Jays in 2015, one year after making a career-high 32 starts and pitching a career-high 184.2 innings with Toronto.
Originally selected by Toronto in the 15th round of the 2009 First-Year Player Draft, Hutchison made his Major League debut as a 21-year-old in 2012. In 76 career games (73 starts) in the big leagues, he has gone 30-21 with two complete games and a 4.92 ERA (406.1ip/222er).
