The upcoming homestand features the return of the popular STAR WARS TM Day on August 13, including a NationalsSTAR WARS TM T-Shirt giveaway, as well as a special fireworks display after the game on August 12. Nationals Park will also host several events to benefit the local community, including the Harris Teeter Food Drive and Dream Foundation Day. In addition, the team will honor members of the armed forces during Purple Heart Day and the fourth installment of the 2016 Military Branch Days, U.S. Coast Guard Day.
 
FRIDAY, AUGUST 5
·         Military Branch Days Delivered by UPS - U.S. Coast Guard Day: U.S. Coast Guard Day delivered by UPS, the fourth of the 2016 Military Branch Days, honors and celebrates the U.S. Coast Guard. Representatives from the U.S. Coast Guard will participate in pregame ceremonies and be special guests of the Nationals for the Salute to Service. Highlights will include:
o   MH-65 Blackjacks from the National Capital Region Air Defense Facility performing a flyover before the game
o   U.S. Coast Guard Ceremonial Honor Guard presenting our nation's colors
o   Petty Officer First Class Jennifer Crist, U.S. Coast Guard, performing the National Anthem and God Bless America
o   Ceremonial first pitch thrown by Vice Admiral Sandra Stosz, U.S. Coast Guard
o   Deputy Master Chief Petty Officer Leilani Cale-Jones, U.S. Coast Guard, delivering the game ball to the game's starting pitcher

SATURDAY, AUGUST 6
·         Harris Teeter Food Drive: Fans are encouraged to help those in need by bringing non-perishable food items to Nationals Park on August 6 and 7. All donations will benefit the Capital Area Food Bank. Volunteers will be stationed outside the Center Field Gates to collect non-perishable items, and fans who donate four or more items at the ballpark will receive two tickets to a future game, while supplies last. In addition, the first 500 fans (each day) who bring Harris Teeter Brand items will receive $5 Nats Bucks. For those who can't make it to the ballpark, Harris Teeter is currently accepting in-store collections until August 8. More information can be found at nationals.com/FoodDrive.
 
·         Budweiser Terrace Entertainment: JCC International Entertainment and DJ Alkimist will be hosting Karaoke Night at the Budweiser Terrace beginning at 5:30 p.m. As always, the Budweiser Terrace will feature daily happy hour specials, including $5 beers from the time gates open until 35 minutes before first pitch.  
 
·         Ben Revere at T-Mobile: Nationals OF Ben Revere will be at the T-Mobile store at 3610 King St. in Alexandria, Va., from 11 a.m. - noon for a meet-and-greet with fans.
 
·         Herbie in Iowa: In conjunction with the team's partnership with the White House Historical Association,Racing President Herbie will be in West Branch, Ia., on August 6 to attend Hoover Hometown Days, representing the Nationals and the WHHA in the annual parade. Herbie's trip will also include a visit to the iconic Field of Dreamsbaseball field.
 
SUNDAY, AUGUST 7

·         Purple Heart Day: On this day in 1782, the original Purple Heart, designated as the Badge of Military Merit, was established by George Washington - then the commander-in-chief of the Continental Army. More than 200 years later, the Purple Heart is still being awarded to those in the U.S. military who are wounded or killed while serving during wartime. The Nationals will recognize local Purple Heart recipients on the field during pregame ceremonies.
 
·         Kids Run the Bases: All kids ages 4 through 12 will have the opportunity to run the bases after Sunday home games, weather permitting. Jr. Nationals MVP members will have access to an exclusive line that will go onto the field first. For more information on the Jr. Nationals Kids Club, visit nationals.com/jrnats.
 
·         Peet's Coffee Sampling: Peet's Coffee & Tea will provide complimentary coffee samples outside the Center Field Gates on N Street SE as fans enter the ballpark, while supplies last.
 
TUESDAY, AUGUST 9
·         Jayson and Pals: Nationals OF Jayson Werth will host children affected by celiac disease. As part of the program, Jayson provides tickets, NatsBucks and an on-field batting practice viewing along with a private meet-and-greet.
 
WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10
·         $1 Ice Cream Presented by Good Humor: Fans can purchase select ice cream novelties for just $1 at all Nats Dog stands until the start of the sixth inning or while supplies last. Some restrictions apply.
 
·         Budweiser Terrace Entertainment: District Trivia, LLC will host Trivia Night at the Budweiser Terrace starting at 4:30 p.m.
 
FRIDAY, AUGUST 12
·         Postgame Freedom Fireworks Presented by Associated Builders & ContractorsFollowing the game, fans can watch a special fireworks display presented by Associated Builders & Contractors. Prior to the fireworks, fans will be treated to a performance by the U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard Drill TeamTickets for Friday's game are available at nationals.com/tickets.
 
·         Capri Everitt at Nationals Park: 11-year-old Capri Everitt will sing the National Anthem at Nationals Park before Friday's game. Capri and her family are on a year-long journey to sing 80 anthems in 80 countries to raise awareness and support for SOS Children's Villages, the largest provider of loving homes for orphaned and abandoned children around the world. ·         Anthony's Academy All-Stars: Nationals 3B Anthony Rendon will host a group of scholar-athletes from the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy - where Anthony sits on the Board of Directors - at Nationals Park for an opportunity to watch a Major League game. As part of this season-long program, the group will enjoy a private meet-and-greet, special batting practice viewing, tickets to the game and NatsBucks. SATURDAY, AUGUST 13
·         STAR WARS TM Day: STAR WARS TM Day returns to Nationals Park on Saturday after a successful debut last season.The first 20,000 fans who enter the ballpark through ALL GATES will receive a Nationals STAR WARS TM T-Shirt. STAR WARS TM characters will be roaming the concourse to take pictures with fans, and DJ Stylus Chris will be playingSTAR WARS TM-themed music in Center Field Plaza beginning at 4:30 p.m.  More information and tickets for Saturday's game are available at nationals.com/StarWars.
 
·         Inova Sports Medicine Youth Baseball Coaches Clinic: In partnership with Inova Sports Medicine, the Washington Nationals will hold a coaches clinic at Nationals Park. Youth baseball coaches from across the D.C., Maryland and Virginia area will receive exclusive training tips from Nationals coaches as well as gain essential youth sports education from Inova Sports Medicine staff. Registration is not open to the public.

·         Dream Foundation Day: The Nationals will celebrate Dream Foundation Day on Sunday. The annual Dream Foundation Day recognizes the year-round work that the Washington Nationals Dream Foundation does in the local community, and also raises awareness before and during the game about the Dream Foundation's cornerstone programs and fundraising initiatives. As the charitable arm of the Nationals, the Dream Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children and teens in the Washington, D.C. region by supporting initiatives focused on academics, the arts, nutrition and sports. ·         Mystery Grab Bag FundraiserThe Washington Nationals Dream Foundation will be selling Mystery Grab Bags on the Main Concourse during Dream Foundation Day. Each Mystery Grab Bag will contain a baseball autographed by a Nationals player or Manager Dusty Baker. With the help of Nationals players' significant others, Mystery Grab Bag sales will begin after first gates open until they sell out, with all proceeds benefitting the Dream Foundation and their charitable initiatives in the Washington, D.C. region.

PARKING, SAFETY AND TRANSPORTATION
Metro's Safe Track Plan started Saturday, June 4, and is expected to cause delays throughout the Metro system. Please visit wmata.com/rail/safetrack.cfm regularly for the most updated Safe Track information and allow extra time traveling to and from Nationals Park.

As part of Major League Baseball's ongoing safety enhancements at all ballparks, Nationals Park introduced walk-through metal detectors before the 2015 season. These safety precautions will continue throughout the 2016 season. The Nationals have added metal detectors at all entrances, including Third Base, as well as the ADA First Base Accessible entrance. Fans are encouraged to allow plenty of extra time when getting to their seats.
 
Fans traveling to the park should be aware of the many new construction projects underway in the surrounding area. To ensure safe crossings, please be mindful of signage and directions given by public safety officers.
