LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today recalled right-handed reliever Josh Ravin from Triple-A Oklahoma City and placed right-hander Joe Blanton on the Bereavement List.
Ravin, 28, combined to post a 1.00 ERA (1 ER/9.0 IP) in six minor league games (two starts) this year with OKC and the Rookie-level AZL Dodgers, limiting opponents to a .094 batting average and striking out 18 in 9.0 innings. The West Hills native opened the season on the 60-day DL with a fractured left radius, suffered in a car accident during Spring Training, and also missed 80 games this season due to a suspension for a violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Ravin appeared in nine games with the Dodgers last season, going 2-1 with a 6.75 ERA, for his first big league action.
