DODGERS PLACE VAN SLYKE ON DL; RECALL TAYLOR

The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed outfielder/first baseman Scott Van Slyke on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to Aug. 8) with right wrist irritation and recalled infielder Chris Taylor from Triple-A Oklahoma City.

LOS ANGELES - The Los Angeles Dodgers today placed outfielder/first baseman Scott Van Slyke on the 15-day disabled list (retroactive to Aug. 8) with right wrist irritation and recalled infielder Chris Taylor from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Taylor, who was acquired by Los Angeles on June 19 from the Seattle Mariners, went 11-for-48 (.229) with two doubles, two triples, a homer and seven RBI in 24 games during his first call-up with the Dodgers before being optioned on Sunday. The 25-year-old also appeared in two big-league games with Seattle this season (1-for-3) and has combined to post a .320/.392/.471 slashline at Triple-A with Oklahoma City (Dodgers) and Tacoma (Mariners), going 83-for-259 with 22 doubles, four triples, three homers and 32 RBI in 66 games.
Van Slyke, who was also on the DL from April 12-June 3 with lower back irritation, batted .225 with a homer and seven RBI in 52 games with the Dodgers this year.
