The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Major League roster:
Placed RHP DANNY SALAZAR on the paternity list.
Recalled RHP SHAWN ARMSTRONG from Triple-A Columbus.
Armstrong, 25, has spent most of the 2016 season in Triple-A Columbus, going 3-1 with nine saves in 10 chances with a 1.84 ERA in 47 relief outings (49.0IP, 27H, 10ER, 0HR, 29BB, 72SO, .160 avg). He has not allowed a run over his last 19 outings since July 3 (20.0IP, 8H, 0R, 27SO) and has limited batters to a .188 (16-85) average against with runners on base for the season. The Triple-A All-Star has been with Cleveland three times previously in 2016 (5/31; 8/3; 8/19) and has allowed one run over two outings (3.0IP, 2H, 1R/ER, 0BB, 2SO).
