Cardinals activate first baseman Matt Adams from DL

The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to their series opener tonight in Cincinnati that they have activated first baseman Matt Adams from the 15-day disabled list. Adams had been sidelined since August 10 due to right shoulder inflammation.

The St. Louis Cardinals announced prior to their series opener tonight in Cincinnati that they have activated first baseman Matt Adams from the 15-day disabled list. Adams had been sidelined since August 10 due to right shoulder inflammation.
Adams, 28, appeared in five games for Memphis (AAA) during an injury rehabilitation assignment, batting .188 (3-for-16) with a home run and double. He reached base safely in all five games, walking twice in each of his last two games played for the triple-A Redbirds.
In 95 games with the Cardinals this season, Adams is batting .249 (63-for-253) with 12 HR's and 44 RBI.
