Mariners Activate RHP Tom Wilhelmsen from 15-day DL

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the club has activated right-handed pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen from the 15-day disabled list.

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the club has activated right-handed pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen from the 15-day disabled list.
The roster move puts the Mariners Major League active roster at 32 players.
Wilhelmsen (#54) will be in uniform and available for today's (1:05 pm PT) game at the Oakland Athletics.
Wilhelmsen, 32, was originally placed on the 15-day disabled list on Aug. 27 (retroactive to Aug. 26) with low back spasms. Prior to being placed on the DL, Wilhelmsen was 0-1 with 1 save and a 3.20 ERA (7 ER, 19.2 IP) with 15 strikeouts in 22 relief appearances with Seattle this season. The 6-foot-6 220-pound right-hander was signed to a Major League contract and added to the Mariners 25-man roster on June 22. He made one appearance with Seattle, tossing 1.0 scoreless inning while allowing 1 hit on June 23 at Detroit, before being optioned to Tacoma on June 24. He was later recalled to Seattle on June 30. In parts of 6 Major League season with Seattle and Texas, Wilhelmsen is 13-14 with 68 saves with a 3.44 ERA (135 ER, 353.1 IP) with 320 strikeouts in 310 career games (2 career starts).
