Indians promote RHP Adam Plutko from AAA Columbus

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Major League and 40-man rosters:
Plutko, 24, split the 2016 season between Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus, going a combined 9-8 with a 3.73 ERA in 28 starts (161.2IP, 151H, 69R/67ER, 13HR, 46BB, 130SO, .248 avg). He finished second among organizational pitchers in innings (161.2) and strikeouts (130) and finished tied for first in starts (30); going at least 5.0IP in 25 of those starts. He spent the first two and a half months of the season at AA Akron before being promoted to Columbus on June 18, going 6-5 with a 4.10 ERA in 15 starts for the Clippers (90.0IP, 87H, 41ER, 34BB, 67SO). He is making his debut at the Major League level after being selected by Cleveland in the 11th round (321st overall) of the 2013 First-Year Player Draft out of UCLA. He owns a three-year career Minor League record of 29-25 with a 3.36 ERA in 83 starts (477.1IP, 425H, 178ER).
The Major League roster now consists of 37 players.
