Royals Charities announces second annual Giving Week
Royals Charities to host events and donate funds throughout greater Kansas City area December 5 through December 9.
The Royals club foundation is proud to announce the second annual Royals Charities Giving Week, set for December 5 through December 9.
Throughout the week, members of the Royals front office will make various visits throughout the Greater Kansas City area, hosting special events and making donations to different programs. The Kansas City Royals Alumni Association will also have members attending each event and will be making additional donations throughout the week. Royals Charities will announce all grant recipients from the fall 2016 grant cycle during Giving Week. Please see below for the day-by-day list of locations and events.
Monday, December 5
Event: Visit The University of Kansas Hospital to present a $200,000 check to support the children and families waiting room in the new Cambridge North building.

Tuesday, December 6
Event: Royals Charities will present a check for $60,000 to support the construction of an inclusive playground at Leawood City Park. The Royals Alumni Foundation will also present a check for an additional $5,000. The presentation will include a message about the importance of inclusion, and kids will be treated to Krispy Kreme donuts.

Event: Visit the Police Athletic League of Kansas City facility for a tour and basketball scrimmage with the kids. Royals Charities will present a check for $40,000 to renovate locker rooms. The Royals Alumni Foundation will also present a $5,000 check to renovate laundry room.

Thursday, December 8
Event: Visit classrooms at the Northland Early Education Center. Royals Charities will present a $20,000 check to help expand building and services. The Royals Alumni Association will present a $5,000 check to help build new classrooms and an outdoors classroom.

Event: Visit FosterAdopt Connect and tour playground that Royals Charities previously helped fund. A $10,000 check will be presented to support general operating costs. The Royals Alumni Foundation will also present a $5,000 check. Royals Charities and Royals alumni will deliver a collection of holiday gifts purchased by Royals associates for foster families and children.

Event: Visit Longfellow House of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City to reveal Royals basement renovation, previously funded by Royals Charities.

Event: Assist with the Johnson County Christmas Bureau Family Holiday Shop. Royals Charities will make a $5,000 grant donation.
