As a part of the second-annual Royals Charities Giving Week, Royals Charities will visit the Longfellow House of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Kansas City and the Johnson County Christmas Bureau on Friday.
 
At 10 a.m., Royals Charities will visit the Longfellow House, located at 2502 Cherry St., Kansas City, Mo. Ronald McDonald House Charities will reveal the newly-renovated Royals-themed basement of the house previously funded by a $50,000 grant from Royals Charities. Members of the Royals Alumni Association will also be in attendance, including Brian McRae, Joe Randa, Willie Wilson and Al Fitzmorris.
The second event will take place from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., as Royals pitcher Ian Kennedy, Royals Charities and other members of the Royals front office staff will assist with the Johnson County Christmas Bureau Family Holiday Shop. Royals Charities will also present a check for $5,000. The shop is located at 16100 W. 135th St., Olathe, Kan. The building is located behind the Applebee's and between the Mur-Len and Blackbob streets.
On Monday, Royals Charities presented a check for $200,000 to the University of Kansas Hospital to support the children and families waiting room in the new Cambridge North building. On Tuesday, the foundation presented checks for $60,000 and $40,000 to Variety KC and the Police Athletic League, respectively. Variety will use the money to build an inclusive playground at Leawood City Park. The funding for the Police Athletic League will help renovate locker rooms. Earlier today, Royals Charities presented a $20,000 check to help expand building and services at Northland Early Education Center. The Club also visited FosterAdopt Connect to deliver gifts purchased by Royals associates for foster children and families. Royals Charities presented a $10,000 check to support general operating costs.
