Mariners announce baseball operations promotions

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto today announced the following changes in the Mariners Baseball Operations department.

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto today announced the following changes in the Mariners Baseball Operations department:
Mosimann will now be responsible for serving as the liaison between the Major League team, manager, coaches and staff and the front office. He also oversees clubhouse operations and video operations. Jack spent the past four seasons as the Mariners Player Development assistant. He began his Mariners career in 2012 as the Clinton LumberKings video coordinator. 
Smith is now responsible for leading the Mariners baseball analytics group and devising strategy and research to maximize the information available to the team and turn it into strategies to assist with player acquisition, development and on field advantage for the Major League club and the player development department. Jesse began his career with the Mariners as an intern in the baseball operations department in February, 2012. He was hired full-time as Baseball Operations Quantitative Analyst in October, 2012 and spent four years in that role prior to being promoted to Manager of Analytics in April, 2015.
 
Shaw and Stanton have taken on new roles, and increased responsibility in the Mariners scouting department, while Roche and Firman have been added as new, fulltime employees.
