A's agree to terms with two international free agents

The Oakland A's agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Luis Miguel Romero and center fielder Enry Pantojas on minor league contracts, the club announced today.

The Oakland A's agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Luis Miguel Romero and center fielder Enry Pantojas on minor league contracts, the club announced today. Both are international free agents from Cuba.
Romero spent four seasons with Guantanamo in the Cuba's Serie Nacional and was 9-7 with nine saves and a 4.80 ERA in 46 games, including 10 starts. He made his debut in 2012 at the age of 18 and went 2-3 with a 5.03 ERA in 18 games, nine starts. The 22-year-old right-hander was 7-2 with eight saves and a 3.31 ERA in 20 relief appearances in his final season in 2015.
Pantojas played for Santiago de Cuba in 2015 at the age of 18 and hit .304 with a double and three RBI in 19 games. The 20-year-old right-handed hitter also walked four times for a .429 on-base percentage.
