Padres Announce 25-man Roster

The San Diego Padres today have announced their 25-man roster. Executive Vice President/General Manager A.J. Preller made the announcement.

SAN DIEGO - The San Diego Padres today have announced their 25-man roster. Executive Vice President/General Manager A.J. Preller made the announcement.
 
The club has selected the contract of catcher Hector Sanchez, optioned infielder Cory Spangenberg to Triple-A El Paso and designated left-handed pitcher Keith Hessler for assignment. In addition, the club has placed left-handed pitcher Buddy Baumann on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to March 30, right-handed pitcher Carter Capps on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to March 31, left-handed pitcher Christian Friedrich on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to March 30, and outfielder Alex Dickerson on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to March 30.
 
With today's announcements the Padres currently have 40 players on their 40-man roster and a full 25-man active roster.
