Ballard Pizza Company, Bramling Cross, Great State Burger, Poquitos and Uptown China restaurant concepts join the lineup at Safeco Field for the 2017 Seattle Mariners season.
Centerplate, the Mariners hospitality partner, and noted Seattle restaurateur and Safeco Field consulting chef Ethan Stowell are continuing a now seven-year collaboration that has earned Safeco Field a reputation for locally-inspired restaurant-quality food in a ballpark setting.
The 'Pen Refresh
The 'Pen, Safeco Field's destination for signature concessions and socializing, is getting an update with four new food concepts from some of Seattle's best-loved restaurants.
Ballard Pizza Co., by Ethan Stowell, will serve pizza by the slice, as well as Caesar salad. Selections include cheese; pepperoni; Funghi (seasonal fresh mushrooms and thyme); ham & pineapple; Salsiccia (Italian sausage, fennel, fennel pollen) on dough that is aged four days to develop the perfect New York-style thin crust that's crispy and foldable at the same time.
Dynamite Chicken is another Ethan Stowell concept, from his Bramling Cross restaurant. Menu items include Dynamite Chicken (Stowell's own buttermilk-marinated fried chicken); hot wings with honey-chili sauce; "Seattle Wings" (Taylor Shellfish Farms fried oysters with Frank's RedHot sauce); salty, vinegary pickle fries and spicy tater tots.
Great State Burger, a Josh Henderson restaurant, brings its take on the classic American burger to the ballpark featuring organically raised beef with a single or double patty, with or without cheese. There's also Great State's signature veggie burger (organic grains and seasonal vegetables, deep-fried). Sides include crinkle cut fries and organic chocolate, strawberry or vanilla milkshakes.

Poquitos authentic Mexican cuisine takes over the Northwest Mex concept at Edgar's Cantina and Edgar's Tacos with a selection of street-style tacos (chicken, beef and pork) served on hand-made corn tortillas. Offerings also include seasonal margaritas and authentic Oaxacan chapulines (toasted grasshoppers with chile-lime salt seasoning). Both locations will continue to be known as Edgar's.
Uptown China takes over the Intentional Wok at Section 133 on the Main Level with classic Asian combinations including beef and broccoli, General Tso's chicken, Kung Pao chicken, Mongolian beef, sweet and sour pork, as well as fried rice, hot and sour soup, bubble tea and giant Mariners fortune cookies.
Heritage Distilling of Gig Harbor has a new partnership with the Mariners that includes naming rights for Safeco Field's Third Base Terrace Club Lounge, which is now known as the Heritage Distilling Co. BSB Lounge. Heritage's award-winning spirits, including the signature BSB (brown sugar bourbon), will be featured at the BSB Lounge.
Rita's Italian Ice joins the lineup at Safeco Field this season offering refreshing, made-fresh daily frozen ices, gelati (Italian ice layered with frozen custard), Misto shakes (Italian ice blended with frozen custard), frozen custard cups, cones (regular and waffle) and sundaes, as well as frozen custard cookie sandwiches, at five locations throughout the ballpark on the Main and View Levels.
Frozen Rope Sandwich Company, a new concept near Section 132 on the Main Level, features made-to-order ice cream sandwiches with choice of Hope's gourmet cookies, house-made brownies, hand-scooped Snoqualmie Valley or Lopez Island Creamery ice cream, rolled in toppings like mini M&Ms, Fruity Pebbles, nuts or chocolate sprinkles. Frozen Rope also features hand-dipped Stubborn Soda Root Beer floats and, for those 21 and up, hard root beer floats.
Fletcher's returns as the "official hot dog of the Seattle Mariners." The all-beef frank recipe that was served from 1990-1999 at the Kingdome is back and will be available at concession stands around Safeco Field. Packaged Mariners dogs will also be sold at retail locations throughout the Northwest.
CB's Nuts, the Northwest's premier small-batch nut roaster, is offering slow-roasted in-the-shell peanuts and other products at the ballpark beginning this season. CB's is paired at Section 132 on the Main Level with a selection of Northwest craft beers.
Seattle's own Caffé Vita is the new official coffee provider for Safeco Field with a variety of coffee beverages including cold brew. The independent, locally owned company has been roasting coffee in Seattle since 1995 and operates nine cafés in the Pacific Northwest as well as a roasteria café in New York City and a café in Los Angeles.
Barrel-Aged Ale joins the cask-conditioned ale offered at Section 129 on the Main Level with rotating taps of small-batch barrel-aged ales from participating Northwest brewers including Black Raven, Georgetown and Silver City Brewery.
Hop Valley Brewing of Springfield, Oregon, brings its IPAs, ales and lagers to Safeco Field at a new location down the left field line on the Main Level. A converted shipping container outfitted with taps will pour a rotating selection of Hop Valley's original brews.
Columbia Winery & Beringer Founders' Estate Wines
Washington's own Columbia Winery is the new "house" wine at Safeco Field. The award-winning red and white wines will be served at concession stands, clubs and restaurants throughout the ballpark. Beringer Founders' Estate fine wines will be available at 1st Base Vine, near Section 126 on the Main Level with a selection of varietals available by the glass and full-bottle carafe.
