Prior to tonight's game at Kansas City, the Chicago White Sox recalled outfielder Willy García from Class AAA Charlotte.
García, 24, takes the roster spot of outfielder Jacob May, who was optioned to Charlotte following last night's game. He was batting .294 (20-68) with four doubles, four home runs, 13 RBI, 13 runs scored and 11 walks over 18 games with the Knights.
The 6-foot-2, 215-pound García ranks among the International League leaders in home runs (T5th), OPS (8th, .924), walks (T10th, 11), slugging percentage (11th, .529) and on-base percentage (12th, .395).
He was with the White Sox from April 14-16 while Melky Cabrera was on the Paternity List and appeared in his first two major-league games that weekend at Minnesota, going 2-7 (.286) with a double.
García will wear uniform No. 61.
