The Braves have a slew of homestand highlights planned from May 17-25.

TORONTO BLUE JAYS VS. ATLANTA BRAVES (May 17-18)
Thursday, May 18 at 7:35 p.m.
· Atlanta Braves host Henry County High School and Eastside High School baseball teams: The Atlanta Braves will host both the Henry County High School baseball team and the Eastside High School baseball team for the game on Thursday, May 18. The visit will take place to recognize a tremendous act of sportsmanship between Henry County shortstop Jovaal Hollingshed and Eastside High School pitcher Michael Hipps Jr. When the teams matched up in March, Hipps Jr. was taking the mound for the first time since his father had suddenly passed away following a medical emergency that he suffered while cheering on his son at a game. Prior to the first pitch, Hollingshed left the batter's box to visit Hipps Jr. on the mound and offer a handshake and a hug as a show of support before the game began.
o Henry County High School shortstop Jovaal Hollingshed and his family, along with Eastside High School pitcher Michael Hipps Jr. and his family, will also watch batting practice from the field prior to the game as part of the visit.  
· College Night Discount: College students receive $10 off seats in the Home Run Porch on Thursdays (with valid ID). College students can come early and enjoy tailgate-style activities on the Plaza and a live performance by The Trace Pridgen Band. WASHINGTON NATIONALS VS. ATLANTA BRAVES (May 19-21)
Friday, May 19 at 7:35 p.m.
· Ender Inciarte "Game Ender Catch" Bobblehead Giveaway presented by NAPA AUTO PARTS: The first 20,000 fans will receive an Ender Inciarte Bobblehead.
· Friday Night Fireworks presented by Georgia Lottery: Fans will be treated to a dazzling display of fireworks over SunTrust Park following every Friday home game throughout the season.
· Girls Night Out Ticket Package: Celebrate Girls Night Out with the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park. For more information, visit www.Braves.com/GNO. The Girls Night Out ticket package includes the following:

· Honorary Bat Girl Winner Meet & Greet: Each year on Mother's Day Major League Baseball honors fans who have courageously battled breast cancer through the Honorary Bat Girl Contest.
o The Honorary Bat Girl for the Atlanta Braves is Brenda Humphrey from Mableton, Georgia. Brenda supported and cared for her mother and three sisters as they each battled various forms of cancer over the years. Brenda, the single mother of a marine serving in Japan, was diagnosed with breast cancer in July 2014. She educated family and friends about the disease while going through treatment. Brenda was diagnosed again in March 2016 and continues to fight the disease.
o On Friday, May 19 Brenda will attend a special lunch with the Braves Wives, watch batting practice from the field, receive limited-edition pink MLB merchandise, and watch the game. Brenda will also serve as Leader of the Chop in the first inning.
· Leader of the Chop: Before the Braves come to bat in the first inning, the Honorary Bat Girl will start the chop from the Coors Light Chop House.
· Cobb County High Schools Art Show: The Braves will be hosting a pregame art reception for students from various Cobb County High Schools who created Braves-themed artwork.
Saturday, May 20 at 4:10 p.m. (Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 3:30 p.m.)
· Military Appreciation Day: Join the Atlanta Braves at SunTrust Park as they celebrate and honor the men and women who serve in our nation's military.
o USO Donation Drive: The Atlanta Braves will host a donation drive at SunTrust Park benefitting the USO. Fans may donate individually packaged snack foods, condiments, candy, bottled water, sealed fruit snacks, pudding cups, paper products, small cups and prepaid global phone cards. Each fan who donates at least two items will be entered into a raffle for an autographed item from a current or former Braves player.
    §  USO donation tents will be located in the Plaza and outside the  
          third base gate and will be open from the time gates open until the
          end of the first inning.
o The Battery Atlanta will have several merchants participate in Military Appreciation Day by offering exclusive discounts to Active Military members or Veterans (with valid ID).

o Pregame ceremony: The Braves will salute our nation's military with a special pregame ceremony on the field that includes the following:
    §  A giant American flag will be unfurled across the outfield and carried by volunteers of the USO.
    §  The United States Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy and Coast Guard will be saluted on field as they carry out stars   representing each branch of the military. Each branch will also have a special honoree who will be recognized.
    §  Ceremonial First Pitch: The ceremonial first pitch will be thrown by former Navy SEAL Dr. Howard Wasdin.
    §  National Anthem: The national anthem will be performed by Celtic Aire from the United States Air Force Band.
    §  Flyover: The 333rd Fighter Squadron of the United States Air Force will perform a flyover with two F-15E "Strike Eagles" at the conclusion of the national anthem. They are based out of the Seymour Johnson Air Force Base in North Carolina.
    §  The Braves will dedicate a POW/MIA Chair of Honor during the game.
o 7th Inning Stretch: Performance of God Bless America by Timothy Miller.
Sunday, May 21 at 1:35 p.m.
· Alumni Sundays presented by Hyundai: Starting two hours before the game, fans can catch Braves alumni Phil Niekro, Chris Chamblis, Gerald Perry and Terry Harper at the Georgia Power Pavilion Stage.
· Leader of the Chop: Before the Braves come to bat in the first inning, Braves Alumni Phil Niekro will start the chop from the Coors Light Chop House.
· Hometown Hero: The Braves will honor a local military member during the game.
· 7th Inning Stretch: Performance of God Bless America by Timothy Miller.
· Kids Run the Bases presented by Children's Healthcare of Atlanta: On Sundays, kids 14 and under can line up and run around the bases at SunTrust Park just like the Braves. To participate, kids can line up at the third base ramp.
· Atlanta Braves Science of Baseball STEM Showcase presented by Xfinity: The Atlanta Braves Science of Baseball presented by Xfinity is an educational program that aims to promote STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) by using the sport of baseball as a teaching tool.
    
o On Sunday, May 21 the Braves will host a STEM Showcase for students  
to display their Science of Baseball projects in the Plaza from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The showcase will also include interactive displays based on the Braves Science of Baseball curriculum provided by Science of Sport.
· UMPS CARE Charities: UMPS CARE Charities provides financial, in-kind and emotional support for America's youth and families in need. The Umpires from UMPIRES CARE Charities will meet and take photos with mentors and mentees from Big Brother Big Sister of Greater Atlanta before the game.
PITTSBURGH PIRATES VS. ATLANTA BRAVES (May 22-25)
Monday, May 22 at 7:35 p.m.
· Atlanta Public Schools and Cobb County School District All-Stars: In a pregame presentation, the Atlanta Braves will recognize high school baseball all-stars from both Atlanta Public Schools and Cobb County School District who have been selected to play in the L.E.A.D. Baseball Classic that will take place at SunTrust Park on June 3. The L.E.A.D. Baseball Classic is the region's first-ever high school all-star baseball game and will feature more than 50 student-athletes from both school districts. L.E.A.D. (Launching. Exposing. Advising. Directing) aims to empower an at-risk generation to lead and transform their city.
· Braves Country Community Hero presented by SunTrust: Throughout the season, the Atlanta Braves and SunTrust will highlight Atlanta community members for their commitment to giving back and making a difference in the lives of others. Brent Slade is the Director of Fellowship of Christian Athlete's Urban Baseball of Atlanta. Urban Baseball is a safe place for inner city boys and girls to play the game they love, all while receiving coaching and mentorship as they grow from middle to high school.
