Prior to tonight's game against the Detroit Tigers, the Boston Red Sox made the following roster moves:

Pedroia, 33, was placed on the disabled list on May 30 with a left wrist sprain. In 45 games this season, he has hit .292 (50-for-171) with a .369 on-base percentage, nine doubles, two home runs, 21 RBI, and 17 runs scored, drawing 21 walks against only 17 strikeouts. In his most recent 28 games from April 28 until his injury, the 2007 AL Rookie of the Year and 2008 AL Most Valuable Player batted .324 (34-for-105) with an .862 OPS. He has not committed an error in any of his last 82 games dating back to August 20, 2016, totaling 289 chances in that time. Selected by the Red Sox in the second round of the 2004 June Draft, Pedroia has appeared in 1,443 major league games-all with Boston-and hit .301 (1,733-for-5,765) with 384 doubles and 135 home runs. A four-time All-Star and two-time World Series champion, Pedroia owns the highest fielding percentage at second base (.991) in Red Sox history.
Johnson, 26, earned a complete-game victory in his most recent major league start, the third of his career, on May 27 against the Seattle Mariners. He allowed only five hits and struck out eight batters without walking any, becoming the first Red Sox pitcher to throw a shutout of at least nine innings in his Fenway Park debut since Pedro Martinez accomplished the feat on April 11, 1998, also against Seattle. Johnson's only other start with Boston this season came on April 18 at Toronto, when he earned his first major league win after allowing four runs on seven hits in five innings. The left-hander has made eight starts for the PawSox in 2017, going 2-0 with a 2.72 ERA (14 ER/46.1 IP). Selected by the Red Sox as a supplemental-round selection (31st overall) in the 2012 June Draft, Johnson is 31-22 with a 2.61 ERA (137 ER/471.2 IP) and 426 strikeouts in 93 career minor league starts.
Travis, 23, was recalled by the Red Sox on May 23 and posted a .471 batting average (8-for-17) with six runs scored, two doubles, two walks, and three multi-hit performances in six games (five starts) over his first major league stint. In 33 games with Pawtucket this season, the Chicago native has hit .286 (36-for-126) with 19 runs scored, nine doubles, four home runs, and 14 RBI. Selected by Boston in the second round of the 2014 June Draft, the right-handed hitter was named the Red Sox' Minor League Offensive Player of the Year in 2015 before missing a majority of 2016 with a season-ending knee injury suffered on May 29. In 278 career minor league games, Travis has hit .301 (319-for-1,060) with 26 home runs, 27 stolen bases, and an .815 OPS, playing no defensive position other than first base. 
Workman, 28, pitched 2.1 innings in last night's game against the Yankees, allowing two earned runs on three hits with a pair of strikeouts. In his only other appearance with Boston this year, he recorded three scoreless innings against the Baltimore Orioles on May 4, his first big league appearance since 2014. He was also recalled to Boston from May 21-29 without appearing in a game. In nine games with the PawSox this season, the right-hander is 2-1 with a 1.72 ERA (3 ER/15.2 IP) and a .132 opponent batting average (7-for-53). Selected by the Red Sox in the second round of the 2010 June Draft, the 2013 World Series champion has 41 games of regular season major league experience (18 starts), going 7-13 with a 5.04 ERA (75 ER/134.0 IP) and 121 strikeouts. He spent the 2016 season on the disabled list recovering from Tommy John surgery performed on June 15, 2015.
