Round 1 Shane Baz RHP Concordia Lutheran (TX) HS
Was named a first-team all-district in 2017 while going 6-2 with a 0.93 ERA and 96 strikeouts…Was tabbed by Baseball America as having the second-best fastball among high school pitchers in this year's draft along with being the 11th-best prospect available overall…Earned 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game First-Team All-American honors as well as Texas All-Region First-Team accolades..Is the first high school pitcher the Pirates have selected in the first round of the draft since Jameson Taillon in 2010…Was a member of the 18U U.S. National Team that won a Gold Medal in October of 2016…Posted a 1.06 ERA and 46 strikeouts over 23 innings of work as a junior at Concordia Lutheran…Attended the same high school as minor league infielder Ke'Bryan Hayes, who the Pirates selected 32nd overall in the supplemental first round of the 2015 draft.
Round 2 (42nd) Steve Jennings RHP DeKalb County (TN) HS
Was named a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game honorable mention All-American and a Southeast All-Region First-Team selection…Was rated by MLBPipeline.com 47th on the 2017 Prospect Watch….Also played football for DeKalb County, where he was the quarterback of the team and the 4-3A Offensive MVP in 2015 after passing for 2,131 yards, 19 touchdowns and three interceptions while also rushing for 908 yards.
Round 2 (50th) Calvin Mitchell OF Rancho Bernardo (CA) HS
Was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game First-Team All-American and California All-Region First-Team selection…Hit .369 (38-for-103) with six doubles, 11 home runs and 34 RBI in 34 games as a senior at Rancho Bernardo…Also hit 12 home runs during his junior season…Was ranked by MLBPipeline.com as the 79th-best prospect available in the draft…Attended the same high school as current Pirates Trevor Williams.
Round Comp B. Conner Uselton OF Southmoore (OK) High School
Was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game First-Team All-American and West All-Region First- Team selection…Hit .467 with seven home runs and 30 RBI as a senior while being named The Oklahoman's All-State and Big All-City teams…Was ranked 46th by MLBPipeline.com as the 46th top prospect in the draft.
Round 3 Dylan Busby INF Florida State University
Is currently hitting .315 (74-for-235) with 20 doubles, two triples, 14 home runs and 62 RBI in 60 games as a junior at Florida State…His father, Wayne, was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 1988…Led Florida State in slugging percentage (.597) during his sophomore year in 2016…Earned Most Outstanding Player honors of the Tallahassee Regional in 2016 after batting .417 with a 1.118 slugging percentage…Was tabbed by Baseball America as the No. 4 prospect in the Cape Cod League in 2016 while playing for the Hyannis Harbor Hawks…Is a 2013 graduate of Sarasota High School, where he was selected for the Florida Athletic Coaches Association Baseball Classic after his senior season.
Round 4 Jason Delay C Vanderbilt (TN) University
Hit .309 (64-for-207) with 18 doubles, two triples, two home runs and 41 RBI in 59 games as a senior at Vanderbilt University….Was selected by San Francisco in the 11th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft..Is the highest drafted catcher from Vanderbilit since Scotti Madison was selected in the third round of the 1980 draft.
Round 5 Deon Stafford C St. Joseph's (PA) University
Is St. Joseph's highest drafted player since John DelMonte was selected in the fourth round of the 1979 draft…Earned First-Team All-Atlantic 10 honors for the second consecutive year as a junior in 2017…Hit .288 (42-for-146) with eight doubles, eight home runs and 22 RBI in 42 games while also leading the Atlantic 10 conference with a .464 on-base percentage…Was named to the All-Conference second-team and the All- Rookie team as a freshman and was the first St. Joseph's player to earn all-conference honors in three different seasons (2015-17).
Round 6 Cody Bolton RHP Tracy (CA) High School
Recorded 97 strikeouts in 68 innings of work as a senior at Tracy High School…Was a 2017 Rawlings-Perfect Game Second-Team All-American and California All-Region First-Team selection…Was named the Most Valuable Pitcher in the Tri City Athletic League in 2017.
Round 7 Jared Oliva OF University of Arizona
Hit .321 (78-for-243) with 25 doubles, four home runs and 54 RBI in 59 games as a senior this year at the University of Arizona…His father, David, played professionally in the Red Sox organization from 1982-86…His uncle, Steve, played in the Atlanta Braves organization from 1974-78…Was ranked by Baseball America 26th among 2017 draft eligible outfielders.
Round 8 Blake Weiman LHP University of Kansas
Went 5-1 with a 2.80 ERA (45.0ip/14er) and 55 strikeouts in 30 relief appearances as a junior this year at the University of Kansas…Became the 27th player in Kansas history to be drafted in the top 10 rounds of the draft…Played at Columbine High School in Colorado, where he was selected to the 2012, 2013 and 2014 Colorado High School Futures All-Star teams.
Round 9 Bligh Madris OF Colorado Mesa University
Hit .422 (92-for-218) with 14 doubles, 17 home runs, 67 RBI and a .757 slugging percentage in 62 games this season with Colorado Mesa University…Ranked 10th in the country among Division II players with 67 RBI and eighth with a .757 slugging percentage…Was the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Freshman-of-the-Year in 2015.
Round 10 Beau Sulser RHP Dartmouth (NH) College 
Went 6-1 with a 1.40 ERA (45.0ip/7er) and 52 strikeouts in seven appearances (seven starts) as a senior this year at Dartmouth…Was the 2017 Ivy League Pitcher-of-the-Year, an All-Ivy League and All-New England First-Team selection in 2017…Ranked second in the nation in WHIP (0.80) and third in ERA (1.40)…His brother, Cole, was selected in the 25th round of the 2013 draft by Cleveland.
