The Seattle Mariners, Greater Seattle Business Association and T-Mobile are teaming up for LGBTQ Pride Night at Safeco Field on Thursday, June 22.
Grammy nominated singer-songwriter, and Everett native, Mary Lambert will perform the National Anthem. Lambert is best known for her collaboration with Seattle hip hop artists Macklemore and Ryan Lewis on the 2013 smash hit Same Love, which was a double platinum seller in the U.S. and a Top 10 single in six countries. Lambert released her latest EP, Bold, on May 5.
During a pregame ceremony, T-Mobile will present a $10,000 donation to the GSBA Scholarship Fund. Since 1991, the GSBA has awarded more than $3 million in scholarships to LGBTQ and allied student leaders from the state of Washington. Some of the 2017 GSBA scholars will be recognized during the pregame ceremony which will also include Billy Bean, Special Assistant to Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred. Bean is leading MLB's diversity and inclusion efforts. Bean, who played in the Major Leagues for parts of six seasons from 1987-89 and 1993-95, came out in 1999.
A special ticket offer is available that includes a Mariners rainbow trucker hat and admission to a pregame mixer with appetizers. The price for this online-only offer is $48 for View Level and $57 for Main Level seating. Five dollars from every ticket sold through this special offer will benefit the GSBA Scholarship Fund.
