A's Select RHP Michael Brady from Triple-A Nashville; Option RHP Zach Neal

The Oakland A's selected right-handed pitcher Michael Brady from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-handed pitcher Zach Neal to Nashville, the club announced today.

The Oakland A's selected right-handed pitcher Michael Brady from Triple-A Nashville and optioned right-handed pitcher Zach Neal to Nashville, the club announced today. A move to clear a spot on the 40-man roster for Brady will be announced later today.
Brady is 3-1 with a 3.67 ERA and .217 opponents batting average in 14 games (six starts) with Nashville and will be making his Major League debut. He has walked just six batters in 41.2 innings and has 42 strikeouts. The 30-year-old right-hander began the season with two starts, pitched in relief in his next eight outings and is 1-0 with a 4.05 ERA over his last four games, all starts.
Brady was originally drafted by Florida in 2009 out of the University of California as an infielder and transitioned to pitcher in 2010. He signed a minor league contract with the A's Nov. 15, 2016 and is 26-28 with a 3.10 ERA in 283 career appearances (40 starts) in eight seasons as a pitcher. Brady has struck out 515 batters in 508.0 innings and has walked just 85 (1.50 walks per nine innings).
Neal was selected from Nashville May 24 and compiled an 8.56 ERA in five relief appearances with the A's. He walked just one batter in 13.2 innings but allowed a .311 opponents batting average. Neal is 1-2 with a 3.89 ERA in eight games (four starts) with the Sounds.
