The Red Sox today announced plans to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the 2007 Championship team during ceremonies taking place before the Red Sox-Royals game on Sunday, July 30, which is confirmed to begin at 1:35 p.m., previously listed as TBD on the schedule.
Members of the 2007 team will be invited to Fenway Park to celebrate the club's 107th season that ended with a sweep of the Colorado Rockies and the team's second World Series win in four years, seventh overall. Tickets for the Sunday day game are still available on redsox.com.
After the game, the Red Sox Foundation will once again host Picnic in the Park, the annual fundraiser that gives fans an opportunity to have a BBQ picnic in the outfield, get autographs from Red Sox players, and the chance to bid on unique items and experiences donated by the Red Sox players and their wives
The 12th annual event will be held one hour after the conclusion of the game, and include special appearances from Massachusetts First Lady Lauren Baker, all five New England sports team mascots, and the New England Patriots Cheerleaders. Tickets are still available at redsox.com/picnic.
Proceeds from Picnic in the Park will benefit each of the five New England sports team charities and DCF Kids Fund, an organization that provides basic necessities and enrichment opportunities for children served by the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
