Texas Rangers recall INF-OF Drew Robinson from Round Rock

The Texas Rangers today announced that INF-OF Drew Robinson has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League.

The Texas Rangers today announced that INF-OF Drew Robinson has been recalled from Triple-A Round Rock of the Pacific Coast League. Robinson (#18) will be in uniform for Saturday's game at Yankee Stadium.
To make room for Robinson, LHP Martin Perez has been placed on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to June 23, with a fracture and laceration at the tip of his right thumb. Perez sustained the injury when he caught his thumb in the hinge section of a hotel room door on Thursday night in New York.
Robinson .273 with 11 homers and 35 RBI in 58 games with Round Rock in 2017. He has made 32 starts at 2B, 13 at 3B, and 17 in the OF for the Express. This will be Robinson's third stint of the season with Texas. He opened the season with the club and went 0-for-2 in his major league debut on April 5 vs. Cleveland, his only action before being optioned to Round Rock on April 12. He was recalled on May 28 but returned to Round Rock the following day.
Perez is 4-6. 4.70 in 15 starts with the Rangers in 2017. He becomes the fourth Rangers' starter currently on the disabled list, joining Andrew Cashner, A.J. Griffin, and Cole Hamels.
