Orioles Upcoming Homestand Highlights

The Orioles return home Friday, July 14, for a ten-game homestand featuring a three-game, Interleague series against the reigning World Series Champion Chicago Cubs, a four-game series against the Texas Rangers, and a three-game weekend series against the Houston Astros.

The Orioles return home Friday, July 14, for a ten-game homestand featuring a three-game, Interleague series against the reigning World Series Champion Chicago Cubs, a four-game series against the Texas Rangers, and a three-game weekend series against the Houston Astros. The homestand will include the 31st annual OriolesREACH Food & Funds Drive, postgame fireworks presented by Midstate Community Bank, and a special giveaway item when all fans ages 21 and over receive an Infielders Bottle Stopper Set featuring Orioles infielders CHRIS DAVIS, J.J. HARDY, MANNY MACHADO, and 2017 All-Star JONATHAN SCHOOP on Saturday, July 22, prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Astros. As always, students can enjoy a special discount on Friday nights, and children ages 4- 14 can participate in the post-game Kids Run the Bases, presented by Weis Markets, following Sunday games throughout the year. The club will also host nearly 1,500 children as part of the OriolesREACH Gameday Experience Program during the homestand.
Beginning on Friday, July 14, and continuing throughout the weekend series, the Orioles along with the Orioles Wives, Oriole Advocates, Von Paris Moving and Storage, and the Maryland Food Bank will host the 31st annual OriolesREACH Food & Funds Drive, presented by MASN, Pompeian Brands, and WJZ-TV. Representatives from these groups will collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations from fans at every entrance of the ballpark from the time gates open until the end of the second inning. According to the Maryland Food Bank, items most needed at this time are peanut butter, canned chicken, canned tuna, oatmeal, breakfast cereals, and canned fruits and vegetables. The OriolesREACH Food & Funds Drive benefits the food bank's network of soup kitchens, food pantries, and emergency shelters throughout Maryland. The event has raised more than $118,000 and collected nearly 28,000 pounds of food over the last four years.
Representatives from the Maryland Food Bank and one of the Orioles Wives will be available to speak to the media about the OriolesREACH Food & Funds Drive on Friday, July 14, at Home Plate Plaza at 6 p.m. Media should contact Chris Martrich ([email protected]) to RSVP.
Additionally, Maryland Food Bank President and CEO CARMEN DEL GUERCIO will throw out a ceremonial first pitch on Friday. Del Guercio joined the Maryland Food Bank as President and CEO in December 2016 after three decades in the banking industry. During Saturday's game, JACK O'HARA will be recognized as the Birdland Community Hero for his volunteer work with the Maryland Food Bank.
BIRDLAND COMMUNITY HEROES PROGRAM
Through the Birdland Community Heroes Program, the Orioles recognize community heroes who have inspired others through their spirited commitment to extend a hand in charity, service, hope, and harmony. This recognition honors the heroism of members of our extended Orioles community from all walks of life, occupations, and diverse backgrounds living in our region, our country, and abroad, who have distinguished themselves by selflessly working or volunteering in fields that care for, serve, teach, protect, and improve the lives of others, around the corner or around the globe, who are most in need. The Orioles recognize local Birdland Community Heroes at Oriole Park during every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday home game.
JULY 14 - JENNIFER COX; for her dedication to providing healthy food and fitness resources for children living in Baltimore-area homeless shelters. Cox founded Empower4Life, a nonprofit organization that provides health education, fitness activities, nutritious food, and other necessities to children living in homeless shelters. Cox was recognized as a CNN Hometown Hero this past June.
JULY 15 - JACK O'HARA; for his commitment to the Maryland Food Bank (MFB). For more than seven years, O'Hara has spent countless hours and days helping to coordinate all volunteers in the MFB's Charles T. Bauer Community Kitchen. In 2016, he helped to package more than 127,000 pounds of food, and continued his work by tutoring and assisting MFB program students.
JULY 16 - Assistant Fire Chief DARREN O. WARE; for his courageous efforts to save lives. In the spring of 2016, Ware and a Good Samaritan helped to rescue a woman from her burning car. Ware was named the American Legion's "2017 National Firefighter of the Year" and received the Prince George's County Fire Department's Gold Medal of Valor for his actions. Ware has been a firefighter in Prince George's County for 22 years.

JULY 22 - ED PFAFF; for helping adults with developmental disabilities learn and appreciate the game of baseball and softball. Each summer, Pfaff guides over 40 participants to learn the sport of baseball and softball by working on fundamentals at Lutherville Laboratory.
JULY 23 - EARLE FREEDMAN; for his many years of public service benefiting Maryland residents. In the summer of 2016, Freedman retired from his job as director of bridges for the Maryland State Highway Administration after 66 years of working for the state, making him the state's longest-serving employee.
Through the Orioles' Great Americana Music Weekends, the club will also continue the tradition of celebrating American principles and ideals with live performances of classic, American songs during the seventh-inning stretch featuring "This Land Is Your Land" on Fridays, "America, The Beautiful" on Saturdays, and "God Bless America" on Sundays.

Friday nights are Student Nights at Oriole Park. Any student with a valid ID may purchase a Left Field Upper Reserve ticket for only $7 at every Friday home game during the 2017 regular season. Tickets must be purchased at the Box Office ticket windows at Oriole Park in advance or on the day of the game, subject to availability.

CHALLENGER FANTASY CAMP CLINIC
The Orioles Advocates Challenger Baseball program will hold their Annual Fantasy Camp Clinic for Challenger Athletes on Saturday, July 15. This year, approximately 60 Challenger Athletes with physical and developmental challenges selected from Challenger Baseball programs throughout Maryland and Pennsylvania will have the opportunity to learn baseball skills from BRAD BRACH, and Orioles alumni Al BUMBRY and BILL SWAGGERTY. The event will be held at Lake Waterford Park in Pasadena, Md. from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Media are invited to attend and should RSVP to [email protected]. The Orioles donated $3,330 to the Oriole Advocates Charitable Foundation and the Challenger League program this season. The Orioles contribute $5 for each Junior Orioles Dugout Club Kit sold by the Oriole Advocates during home games at Oriole Park and FanFest. Additionally, the Orioles donated more than 800 tickets to the Challenger League for the July 22 game against the Astros.

KIDS RUN THE BASES PRESENTED BY WEIS MARKETS
Sundays are family days at the ballpark, when all fans ages 4-14 will be able to participate in a postgame Kids Run the Bases, presented by Weis Markets. This is the eighth of 13 Sunday home games when kids can round the bases like their favorite Orioles.
MILITARY APPRECIATION PROGRAM
As part of the Orioles' Military Appreciation Program, the Orioles and OriolesREACH donate a catered, private suite at each Sunday home game to servicemen and women. This Sunday, military members from the 29th Division Association will enjoy the game in a suite, experience a meet-and-greet with ZACH BRITTON and CHRIS TILLMAN, and receive a T-shirt and cap.
STEAL SECOND BASE PRESENTED BY ESSKAY
The Orioles will again feature the Steal Second Base contest during every Sunday home game this season. Presented by ESSKAY, the Steal Second Base contest challenges a young fan to race from the grounds crew area in center field to retrieve second base and back. Fans can enter the contest at any Fan Assistance Center. The lucky winner will receive four tickets to that day's game, an Orioles/ESSKAY jersey T-shirt and an Orioles cap. The contestants will also get to keep the authentic base that they steal. The participant for Sunday is BAYLAN NAGY, a 13-year-old from Broadway, Va.

NBC NEWS CORRESPONDENT KASIE HUNT TO THROW CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH
On Monday, July 17, NBC News correspondent KASIE HUNT will be on hand to throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the game. She has more than a decade of experience covering political news and campaigns, as well as the U.S. Congress. Hunt, who grew up in Pennsylvania, is a lifelong Orioles fan.
ORIOLES ALUMNI AUTOGRAPH SERIES
Every Monday and Thursday home game, former Orioles players will sign autographs on Eutaw Street as part of the Orioles Alumni Autograph Series. On July 17, former Orioles MIKE DEVEREAUX, KEN DIXON, and RON HANSEN will sign autographs from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. In the event of inclement weather, the autograph location will take place on the Lower Level Concourse near the Fan Assistance Center behind home plate.

JUNIOR ORIOLES DUGOUT CLUB GAME
Thousands of children who participate in the Junior Orioles Dugout Club will be in attendance on Tuesday to root for the Orioles. The game will be the fourth of the season for Ace Plan members. Kids ages 14 and under who join the Club receive a membership card, a lanyard and ticket holder, a subscription to Orioles Kids magazine, an Orioles cap, sport socks, tickets to six pre-selected Orioles games, all in a Dugout Club backpack. Friends and family members of Dugout Club members can purchase tickets on Dugout Club days for as low as $6 each. Both the Ace Plan and the Slugger Plans are sold out for this season.
RICHARD BLEIER TO APPEAR AT ORIOLES TEAM STORE IN YORK
On Tuesday, July 18, Orioles pitcher RICHARD BLEIER will make an appearance at the Orioles Team Store in the York Galleria (2899 Whiteford Rd., York, Pa.) from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bleier will sign autographs and greet fans. The event is free of charge and open to the public.

ORIOLES TO HOST BIRDLAND SOCIAL WITH TREY MANCINI & ROCH KUBATKO PRESENTED BY CAREFIRST BLUECROSS BLUESHIELD
The Orioles will host the final "Birdland Social" of the season, a Social Media Night event presented by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, at Oriole Park on Wednesday, July 19. The exclusive pregame party will take place on the center field Roof Deck with 250 of the Orioles' most engaged social media followers beginning at 5:00 p.m. The event will include question-and-answer sessions with Orioles INF/OF TREY MANCNI (@TreyMancini) and MASNSports.com's ROCH KUBATKO (@MASNRoch), hosted by Orioles public address announcer RYAN WAGNER (@rwags614).
Tickets for the Birdland Social pregame party are still available (www.orioles.com/birdlandsocial) and include access to the private event, a catered menu, a ticket to the game, and an exclusive Trey Mancini "#BoomBoom" Omoji T-shirt. Fans are encouraged to use #BirdlandSocial throughout the event. Social Media Night will continue with promotions and prizes for all fans attending the game including the popular Catch a #Winner promotion during Batting Practice. Fans who retrieve baseballs that have been stamped "#Winner" can redeem them for a special prize at the Orioles Fan Assistance booth. During the game, fans who tweet using #BringMeFood will be eligible to receive complimentary food delivered to their seats by tweeting the hashtag along with their desired menu item, and their exact seat location. The newest addition to social media night is a #BirdlandSocial Photo Booth at Kids' Corner near Gate C, featuring fun O's baseball-themed props. Participants can share on their Twitter or Instagram accounts using #BirdlandSocial for a chance to be featured on the video board. Several photos will also be featured on the Orioles' official Instagram story.

DARREN O'DAY PRESENTED WITH BOB FELLER ACT OF VALOR AWARD
On Thursday, July 20, prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Rangers, DARREN O'DAY will be recognized during a pre-game ceremony as the Orioles' nominee for the 2017 Bob Feller Act of Valor Award. The award is presented each year to one U.S. Navy Chief Petty Officer, one Baseball Hall of Fame member, and one active Major League Baseball player who reflect the values, integrity, and dedication to serving our country that BOB FELLER himself possessed. The annual Bob Feller Act of Valor Award was created in 2013 with the support of the United States Navy, Cleveland Indians, National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, Battleship USS Alabama, and the consent of Mrs. ANNE FELLER.
TOWSON BASEBALL COACH MATT TYNER TO THROW CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH
On Thursday, July 20, prior to the 7:05 p.m. game against the Rangers, newly-appointed Towson University Head Baseball Coach, MATT TYNER, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Tyner spent the previous four seasons as the assistant baseball coach and recruiting coordinator at the University of Richmond. Tyner was a ninth round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 1980. He spent three years in the Orioles system as an outfielder.

FIREWORKS NIGHT PRESENTED BY MIDSTATE COMMUNITY BANK
On Friday, July 21, the Orioles will host Friday Fireworks Night, presented by Midstate Community Bank. Fireworks will be set off approximately 10 minutes following the conclusion of the game. There will be two more Friday Fireworks Nights throughout the season (August 18 and September 22).
LUNGEVITY FOUNDATION AT CAMDEN YARDS
The Orioles have again teamed up with the LUNGevity Foundation, an organization committed to the fight against lung cancer, in memory of late Orioles' Public Relations Director MONICA BARLOW, who bravely battled the disease before passing away in early 2014. On Friday, July 21, the Orioles have invited the LUNGevity Foundation to hold a silent auction on the lower concourse by Gate E with all proceeds benefiting the organization's work to fight lung cancer. Fans will be able to bid on Orioles memorabilia from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Those interested in learning more about the LUNGevity Foundation, their cause, and this year's LUNGevity Foundation's Breathe Deep Baltimore 5K Walk are encouraged to visit the LUNGevity Foundation at the OriolesREACH Community Booth by Gate D in the lower course on July 21, or to visit www.orioles.com/LUNGevity.
BALTIMORE ORIOLES RBI TEAMS TO COMPETE IN MID-ATLANTIC RBI REGIONAL TOURNAMENT
The Baltimore Orioles RBI program will be sending a junior baseball, senior baseball, and softball team to the Mid- Atlantic RBI Regional Tournament in Philadelphia, Pa., from Friday, July 21, to Sunday, July 23. In its 19th season, Orioles RBI had more than 600 children patriciate in both baseball and softball on 42 different teams. Each player in the Orioles RBI program was given the opportunity to try out for the regional team, which was chosen by the Orioles RBI coaches. The Orioles cover all expenses for the Orioles RBI Regional teams for each division (junior, senior, and softball) in the Mid-Atlantic Regional Tournament, including uniforms, transportation, and hotel accommodations.

ORIOLES TO HOST ANNUAL "STATE OF THE ORIOLES" FOR SEASON PLAN MEMBERS
The Orioles will host the annual "State of the Orioles" event open only to Orioles Season Plan Members prior to the Saturday, July 22, game against the Astros. At 3:00 p.m., Gates A & H will open to all Full Season and 29-Game Plan Members for a special autograph session with Orioles players. Twelve stations will be set up around the ballpark with multiple players per station. The players will sign autographs and greet fans from 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Gates A & H will open to all Season Plan Holders at 4:15 p.m. for a special Q&A session beginning at 4:30 p.m. featuring Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations DAN DUQUETTE and Manager BUCK SHOWALTER. The Orioles will be offering a "Value Menu" at the concession stands located in the lower concourse behind home plate featuring discounts on selected food and beverage items until 5 p.m. Also, Season Plan Members will be allowed to exit through Gate E from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and re-enter the ballpark through any gate to allow them to take items out to their car or take a break before the game begins.

The O'Day family and the Orioles Wives will host a silent auction on the main concourse by Gate E during Saturday's game. The auction will start when gates open at 5:00 p.m. and stay open until 8:30 p.m. The auction will feature Orioles autographed memorabilia as well as players' "favorite things" baskets with proceeds benefiting the USO of Metropolitan Washington-Baltimore.

O'S ZONE RALLY PRESENTED BY BUDWEISER
On Friday, July 28, the Orioles will host an O's Zone Rally presented by Budweiser at Sunset Cove (3408 Red Rose Farm Road, Bowleys Quarters, MD) from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Former Oriole, RICK KRIVDA, will be signing autographs and taking pictures from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the Oriole Bird will be on hand taking photos with fans. All fans are welcome to attend.
    
SATURDAY, JULY 29
ORIOLES HOST ORIOLES RBI ALL-STAR GAME
The Orioles will host the best players from the Orioles RBI 16-18 year-old division for an All-Star Game on Saturday, July 29, at 9 a.m. at Oriole Park. Three players from each of the eleven 16-18 division teams have been selected by their coaches to compete on the same field as their favorite Orioles players. This event is open to the public.
