White Sox announce upcoming homestand events

The Chicago White Sox have announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Seattle and Los Angeles Dodgers.

CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have announced promotional highlights, giveaways and ceremonial first pitches for the upcoming homestand vs. Seattle and Los Angeles Dodgers.
The White Sox invite fans to join us for #SoxSocial Game of Thrones Night, in partnership with Major League Baseball, on Wednesday, July 19. Fans are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite character and will have the opportunity to take a photo with a replica of the infamous Iron Throne.

Friday, July 14 vs. Seattle (7:10 p.m.)
90's Night and Fireworks
, presented by the Village of Bedford Park, will take place on Friday, July 14. The rad era of the 90's will take over the ballpark with themed game entertainment, including music and graphics. In addition, Illini Night is Friday, July 14. Former White Sox pitcher and University of Illinois alumnus Donn Pall will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. The first 2,500 fans to purchase tickets at whitesox.com/illini will receive a voucher for an Illini White Sox baseball cap and have the opportunity to watch batting practice.
Saturday, July 15 vs. Seattle (6:10 p.m.)
To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1917 White Sox World Series, the first 20,000 fans will have the opportunity to take home a White Sox Cap, presented by The PrivateBank, featuring 1917 Sox logo. The logo is highlighted by small stars within the large "S" in Sox and was featured on White Sox uniforms during World War I. Franchise greats to sport those uniforms in 1917 include Hall of Famers Eddie Collins, Ray Schalk and Red Faber.
In addition, country music singer/songwriter Brandon Lay will perform a pregame acoustic set. The Tennessee native is a winner of the Harold Adamson Lyric Award, which is presented to an outstanding lyricist from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers' (ASCAP) Foundation's songwriter workshops. He co-wrote Cole Swindell's "Home Game" and has toured with Brantley Gilbert, Eli Young Band, Jake Owen and Old Dominion.
Sunday, July 16 vs. Seattle (1:10 p.m.)
In celebration of National Ice Cream Day on Sunday, the Museum of Science and Industry Chicago (MSI) will hold a pre-game Ice Cream Social outside the ballpark at 35th Street and Shields Avenue. MSI will show off the science behind this summer-time treat, using liquid nitrogen to create ice cream. The Ice Cream Social will feature a custom ice cream flavor, and fans will receive a free cup of liquid nitrogen-crafted ice cream while supplies last.
Family Sunday, presented by Coca-Cola, will take place on Sunday, July 16. The game will include kid-friendly activities such as children's running the bases postgame (weather permitting), face painters, balloon artists and a caricature artist. Tickets are available as low as $5 in the Upper Level and $15 in the Lower Level with $10 parking. Kids ages 10 and under eat free off the kid's menu at ChiSox Bar & Grill on Family Sundays. Tuesday, July 18 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (7:10 p.m.)
The White Sox invite fans to celebrate Greek Heritage Night at the ballpark. Pregame entertainment includes traditional Greek dances performed by the Neolea Hellenic Dancers. Gyros also will be served on the concourse in Sections 126 and 535. The Party Shop in Section 159 will feature Greek Heritage Night shoulder bags and scarves. Wednesday, July 19 vs. Los Angeles Dodgers (7:10 p.m.)
The White Sox will honor players participating in the 2017 Double Duty Classic during a special pregame ceremony on Wednesday, July 19, in celebration of the 10th annual event. The Double Duty Classic, which will be held by the White Sox on Thursday, July 20, commemorates the history and tradition of Negro Leagues in Chicago while showcasing the rising stars of inner-city baseball.
In addition, General Consul of Israel to the Midwest Aviv Ezra will throw a ceremonial first pitch. Before his time as General Consul, Ezra had a large involvement in facilitating the relationship of Israel and the United States Congress for nearly a decade.
