Mets place RHP Zack Wheeler on DL / recall RHP Tyler Pill

The New York Mets today announced that they have placed RHP Zack Wheeler on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 23, with a stress reaction in his right arm and recalled RHP Tyler Pill from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League.

The New York Mets today announced that they have placed RHP Zack Wheeler on the 10-day disabled list, retroactive to July 23, with a stress reaction in his right arm and recalled RHP Tyler Pill from Las Vegas (AAA) of the Pacific Coast League. Pill will wear #56 and will be available for tonight's game at San Diego.
Pill, 27, made his Major League debut earlier this year and is 0-3 with a 5.00 ERA (10 earned runs/18.0 innings) in five games, three starts for the Mets. He was 4-3 with a 3.47 ERA (31 earned runs/80.1 innings) in 13 starts for Las Vegas this year.
Wheeler was also on the DL from June 21-July 1 with biceps tendinitis. Wheeler is 3-7 with a 5.21 ERA (50 earned runs/86.1 innings) in 17 starts with the Mets this season.
