Astros to Celebrate Jeff Bagwell Hall of Fame Induction In Upcoming Homestand

The Houston Astros return home from a 10-day, nine-game road trip (4-2 thus far) on Monday to take on the Tampa Bay Rays (July 31 - August 3) and Toronto Blue Jays (August 4-6). With a commanding 17.0 game lead in the AL West, the Astros have continued their torrid run in the second half, blazing through the month of July. In 20 July games, the Astros are hitting .327 with 37 home runs, a .573 slugging percentage and a .962 OPS, with all totals leading the Majors by a wide margin. Houston leads the American League by 11.5 games over the Cleveland Indians with 61 games left to play in the regular season.

Astros legend Jeff Bagwell will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame this Sunday, July 30 in Cooperstown, N.Y. Fans will have the chance to celebrate Bagwell's incredible accomplishment here at Minute Maid Park during the Jeff Bagwell Hall of Fame Weekend, presented by Coca-Cola, August 4-6.

Gates will open two hours prior to game time on Friday and Saturday, and at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.

Jeff Bagwell Hall of Fame Weekend presented by Coca-Cola continues on Saturday with a very special pregame ceremony, which is scheduled to begin at 5:25 p.m. Former Astros TV broadcaster Bill Brown and Astros radio broadcaster Steve Sparks will co-host the ceremony, and Astros President of Business Operations Reid Ryan, former Astros player and manager Phil Garner and former Astros player Lance Berkman are scheduled to speak. Jeff Bagwell will address the fans in Houston for the first time as an inducted member of the National Baseball Hall of Fame, as well. The ceremony will also feature a tribute video with highlights of Bagwell's Hall of Fame career.
Prior to the on-field ceremony, a press conference with Bagwell will be held at 4:45 p.m. in the press conference room at Minute Maid Park.
Additionally, 10,000 fans will receive a Jeff Bagwell "Batting Stance" HOF Bobblehead presented by Coca-Cola. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early to receive any promotional giveaways, as supplies are limited and not guaranteed.
During Saturday's game, fans will have the opportunity to take their photo with Jeff Bagwell's Hall of Fame Plaque, which will be returned to its home in Cooperstown, N.Y. following Saturday's game. The photo opportunity is located in Champion's Pavilion on the Mezzanine Level, which can be accessed via the escalators in Center Field. The photo opportunity will open to fans at 6:30 p.m. and remain open through the 7th inning of Saturday's game. Spots are limited and vouchers will be distributed.
