Twins host second annual Diversity Week

The Minnesota Twins organization will be hosting their second annual Diversity Week, July 31 to August 5.

The Minnesota Twins organization will be hosting their second annual Diversity Week, July 31 to August 5.
Monday, July 31 (12:00 pm - 2:00 pm): The Twins Human Resources and Diversity & Inclusion department will start things off on Monday, July 31 with an employee potluck in witch employees are encourage to bring a dish form their culture.
Tuesday, August 1 (6:00 pm - 9:00 pm): The North Loop Neighborhood Association and the Twins will host the 2nd annual "National Night Out" at Target Field Station. The event will be held on the Great Lawn and there will be games, a bouncy house, face painters and a balloon sculptures for a fun evening with the community.
Wednesday, August 2 (5:30 pm - 9:00 pm): The Minnesota Twins and Treasure Island Resort & Casino are hosting the annual Diversity Networking Event. The event will help bring the community together to share ideas about inclusion and collaboration. Artika Tyner, Associate Vice President of Diversity & Inclusion for the University of St. Thomas, will be the keynote speaker. Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton and Billy Bean, Vice President & Special Assistant to the Commissioner at MLB, will also be speaking.
Thursday, August 3 (7:10 pm): Treasure Island Resort & Casino Presents Diversity Day at Target Field. The day features a pregame parade on the field, multicultural performances, diverse music, and more. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive a drink tumbler with one of 5,000 unique designs. 
Friday, August 4 (7:00 pm): The Twins Wives Organization will deliver 200 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students from Hiawatha Academies. Over 95% of their scholars are on free and reduced lunch programs and over 98% are students of color. Hiawatha exists to empower scholars with knowledge, character and leadership skills, and the school has proven that every single child is able to succeed.
Saturday, August 5 (9:30 am - 11:00 am): The Twins will host a baseball clinic at Rod Carew Field in Minneapolis. The clinic program serves as a way for Play Ball! MN to promote baseball and softball to boys and girls throughout the region. Baseball is loved throughout Twins Territory, and this program serves as a way for the Twins to share this passion with those who love the game as we do. Advanced registration is not required to participate, but participants must complete a waiver form before participating.
