Prior to tonight's game vs. Toronto, the Chicago White Sox placed outfielder Willy García on the seven-day disabled list with a concussion and purchased the contract of infielder/outfielder Nicky Delmonico from Class AAA Charlotte.
 
Delmonico, 25, is batting .262 (99-378) with 18 doubles, three triples, 12 home runs, 45 RBI and 55 runs scored over 99 games with Charlotte this season. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Delmonico, who bats left-handed, was named to the International League All-Star Team and played in 73 games at third base, 13 in left field and three in right.
 
Delmonico, a native of Knoxville, Tenn., is a career .257 (462-1,800) hitter with 119 doubles, 61 homers, 248 RBI and 243 runs scored in 490 games over six minor-league seasons.
 
He originally was selected by Baltimore in the sixth round of the 2011 First-Year Player Draft out of the University of Tennessee. Delmonico was traded to Milwaukee on July 23, 2013 in exchange for right-handed pitcher Francisco Rodriguez and signed with the White Sox as a minor-league free agent on February 11, 2015.
 
Delmonico, who has no major-league experience, will wear uniform No. 30.
 
García, 24, is batting .258 (24-93) with two home runs, 11 RBI and 13 runs scored in 40 games over three stints with the White Sox this season. He suffered the concussion during the sixth inning of last night's victory over the Blue Jays.
 
The White Sox 40-man roster increases to 36.
