Twins to recall Gibson from Rochester

The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they will recall right-handed pitcher Kyle Gibson from Triple-A Rochester in time for his start tomorrow night against Texas.

Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced tonight that they will recall right-handed pitcher Kyle Gibson from Triple-A Rochester in time for his start tomorrow night against Texas. Gibson recently made one start for the Red Wings, pitching 5.0 shutout innings with one hit allowed at Indianapolis. In 18 starts for the Twins this season, Gibson went 6-8 with a 6.08 ERA (94.2 IP, 64 ER), 45 walks and 62 strikeouts.
To make room for Gibson on the 25-man roster, the Twins have optioned outfielder Zack Granite to Triple-A Rochester. Granite played in 19 games for the Twins, hitting .250 (16-for-64).
