Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:
Martin (#57) will be in uniform and available for game 2 of today's doubleheader vs. the Kansas City Royals.
 
Martin, 27, is appearing in his second stint with Seattle (7/28-29), but has not yet appeared in a game with the Mariners this season. Martin has appeared in 14 games with Tacoma after opening the season on Tacoma's disabled list with a right forearm strain, April 13-May 31. Overall he is 0-0 with a 3.78 ERA (14 ER, 33.1 IP), including going 0-0 with a 2.93 ERA (5 ER, 15.1 IP) in 4 starts. The 6-foot-3, right-handed pitcher, has limited opponents to a .266 (34x128) average while walking 10 and striking out 40. He struck out 1 in a 1-2-3 inning in relief in his last appearance with Tacoma on Friday vs. Memphis.
 
Martin made 9 appearances, including 2 starts, with the Mariners in 2016, going 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA (11 ER, 25.2 IP) with 15 strikeouts and 9 walks. He was claimed off waivers by Seattle from Oakland on Oct. 29, 2015. In parts of 2 Major League seasons with the Braves (2015), Athletics (2015) and Mariners (2016-c), he is 3-7 with a 6.07 ERA (38 ER, 56.1 IP) with 42 strikeouts and 21 walks in 34 games (4 starts). The native of Dos Palos, CA, was selected by Atlanta in the 7th round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Gonzaga University.
