Rockies Reinstate Ryan Hanigan & Recall Raimel Tapia

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated catcher Ryan Hanigan from the 10-day disabled list and recalled outfielder Raimel Tapia from Triple-A Albuquerque.

The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have reinstated catcher Ryan Hanigan from the 10-day disabled list and recalled outfielder Raimel Tapia from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Hanigan, 37, was placed on the 10-day disabled list on Aug. 22 with a left groin strain … has hit .250 (24-for-96) with two doubles, two home runs and 12 RBI in 29 starts at catcher for the Rockies this year … had his contract purchased from Albuquerque on May 3 and appeared in 13 games before being optioned to Albuquerque on June 15 … was signed to a Minor League contract by the Rockies on March 28 … in parts of 11 seasons with Cincinnati (2007-13), Tampa Bay (2014), Boston (2015-16) and Colorado (2017), has batted .250 (489-for-1,954) with 71 doubles, one triple, 30 home runs and 214 RBI in 676 games.
Tapia, 23, has batted .274 (37-for-135) with 22 runs, eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, 11 RBI and five stolen bases in 53 games across five stints on the Rockies active roster this season … in 58 games with Triple-A Albuquerque, batted .369 (97-for-263) with 45 runs, 20 doubles, eight triples, two home runs, 30 RBI, 13 walks and 12 stolen bases … made his Major League debut for the Rockies on Sept. 2, 2016 vs. Arizona and has hit .272 (47-for-173) with 26 runs, eight doubles, two triples, two home runs, 14 RBI and eight stolen bases across 75 career games.
The Rockies have a full 40-man roster.
