Red Sox fans are asked to arrive early for all postseason games at Fenway Park to leave time for security screenings at the gates and in anticipation of increased traffic around the ballpark.
Game 3 of the American League Division Series against the Houston Astros will be played on Sunday, October 8, at 2:38 p.m. Fenway Park gates will open two hours before the game at 12:38 p.m.     
As part of the standard entry screening process in place for all Fenway Park events, fans entering the ballpark will be screened using walkthrough metal detectors, and all bags will be checked by trained security staff. No bags or item larger than 16"x16"x8" are permitted inside Fenway Park. 
Throughout the year, a comprehensive set of security measures are in place at the ballpark, including 24/7 security staff and video surveillance, force protection measures around the perimeter of the ballpark, mail and visitor screening, and daily intelligence briefings.
In addition to these measures, for the postseason, Boston Police Department tactical teams will be stationed inside the ballpark and the surrounding perimeter, and additional police detail officers will be on site, including undercover plain clothes officers monitoring the crowds. A comprehensive sweep of the ballpark will be completed by Explosive Ordinance Detection (EOD) teams who will remain on site during the game. Parking and traffic restrictions in the neighborhood will be strictly enforced.
Red Sox security personnel are in constant communication with the law enforcement and public safety community. Threat assessments are received daily from the Boston Regional Intelligence Center (BRIC) in addition to regular meetings with Homeland Security, the FBI, the MA Executive Office of Public Safety and Security, MLB Security, and command staff from the Boston Police Department. 
As always, fans attending games at Fenway Park are encouraged to speak up if they see suspicious behavior or activity that goes against Fenway Park's code of conduct. Fans may report inappropriate or irregular behavior by addressing a uniformed Red Sox staff member, texting Red Sox security using the number 23215 with "Security" in the subject line, calling the security hotline at 617-226-6411, or using the Ballpark App to contact the Guest Services team.
The club anticipates heavy traffic around Fenway Park during the ALDS and encourages fans to take public transportation.
In addition to taking the popular T to Kenmore Square, the commuter rail trains arrive at Yawkey Station, just 511 feet from the doorstep of Fenway Park. Yawkey Station is part of the commuter rail's Framingham/Worcester line, which runs from Worcester to South Station.
