Bogusevic to be guest on Astroline on Wednesday

Astros offseason call-in radio show broadcast weekly from Buffalo Wild Wings in Midtown

HOUSTON -- Astros outfielder Brian Bogusevic will be this week’s guest on the club’s popular Astroline call-in radio show on Wednesday, December 14, at 7:00 p.m. Hosted by Hall of Fame Broadcaster Milo Hamilton, Astroline is broadcast live from Buffalo Wild Wings at 510 Gray Street.

The show is open to the public and airs on the club’s flagship station, KTRH 740 AM. Listeners can call into the show with questions at 713-212-5874. Fans may also send questions to Alyson Footer via Twitter at http://twitter.com/alysonfooter. Astroline is also streamed live at www.astros.com. Archived broadcasts from this year’s shows will also be available on the team’s website.

Bogusevic, 27, spent most of his 2011 season with the Astros, hitting .287 (47x164) with four home runs and 15 RBI in 87 games. He started 35 games in the outfield, 32 of those coming in August and September, and hit .317 (38x120) with a .362 on-base percentage over his final 43 games of the season. Despite playing in just 40 games in right field, Bogusevic compiled nine outfield assists from the position, which ranked sixth in the National League. Bogusevic also provided one of the most memorable plays for Houston in 2011, connecting for a walk-off grand slam home run on August 16 vs. Chicago (NL). He was the first Astro to hit a walk-off grand slam since Gregg Zaun in 2002.

Hamilton began his Hall of Fame radio career as a disc jockey on the Armed Forces Radio Network during Thanksgiving week in 1945. The 2012 season will be his 28th season with the Astros and his 59th year broadcasting Major League Baseball.

Wednesday’s Astroline is the fourth of 18 scheduled shows during its five-month run leading into the 2012 baseball season, and the program is broadcast each Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. The program will move to Florida in March when the Astros report to Spring Training in Kissimmee, FL.

Astroline, presented by Budweiser, features interviews, news, and information on the Houston Astros. The show features a different guest each week, ranging from current and former Astros players to front office personnel.
