Nationals Agree to Terms with OF Mike Cameron

The Washington Nationals have agreed to terms with outfielder Mike Cameron on a minor-league contract with an invitation to Spring Training. Nationals Executive Vice President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo made the announcement.

A former All-Star (2001) and three-time Gold Glove winner, Cameron has batted .249 with 278 home runs, 968 RBI and 297 stolen bases spanning 17 seasons with Chicago-AL (1995-98), Cincinnati (’99), Seattle (2000-03), New York-NL (’04-05), San Diego (’06-07), Milwaukee (’08-09), Boston (’10-11) and Miami (’11).

The 38-year-old is one of just five active players with at least 250 home runs and 250 stolen bases, joining Alex Rodriguez, Alfonso Soriano, Carlos Beltran and Bobby Abreu. Cameron has played in four post-seasons with the Mariners (2000 & ’01), Padres (’06) and Brewers (’08).
