Cubs, outfielder Reed Johnson agree to terms on 2012 contract

CHICAGO - The Chicago Cubs and outfielder Reed Johnson have agreed to terms on a one-year major league contract.  Terms of the deal were not disclosed.  

Johnson, 35, batted .309 (76-for-246) with 22 doubles, five home runs, 33 runs scored and 28 RBI in 111 games for the Cubs last season, his second stint with the organization.  Johnson also spent two seasons with the Cubs from 2008-09, batting .287 (143-for-498) with 31 doubles, 10 home runs and 72 RBI in 174 games those two seasons, before spending the 2010 campaign with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 5-foot-10, 180-pounder is a career .283 hitter (857-for-3,029) with 178 doubles, 59 home runs and 349 RBI in 997 games covering all or part of nine major league seasons with Toronto (2003-07), the Cubs (2008-09, 2011) and the Dodgers (2010).
