CLEVELAND, OH  –  The Cleveland Indians today announced several promotions within the club’s Major League Athletic Training Staff.

Today the Indians and Head Athletic Trainer LONNIE SOLOFF promoted JEFF DESJARDINS to the lead Assistant Athletic Trainer position with MICHAEL SALAZAR joining the Major League staff as an Assistant Athletic Trainer.  The moves were precipitated by the departure of RICK JAMEYSON, who is now the Head Athletic Trainer of the Boston Red Sox.

Desjardins, 38, is entering his 12th season in the Indians organization after joining the club in 2001.  He has been on the Major League Athletic Training Staff since 2010 and in the lead assistant role will now assist Soloff in all facets of the operation and will travel full-time.
