Twins announce single-game tickets on sale for Feb. 25

Standard Variable Pricing Applies February 25-March 8; Demand Based Pricing Starts March 9

The Minnesota Twins today announced that single-game tickets for the 2012 season at Target Field go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. CST on Saturday, Feb. 25 via www.twinsbaseball.com, by calling 612-33-TWINS (612-338-9467) or 800-33-TWINS (800-338-9467), or in-person at the Target Field Ticket Office. Tickets go on sale at Twins Pro Shops located in Apple Valley, Roseville and Minnetonka starting Monday, Feb. 27.

“We are looking forward to a successful 2012 season and are encouraged by the more than six million fans, which came through the Target Field turnstiles during the past two seasons,” said Twins President Dave St. Peter. “The 2012 schedule is extremely attractive and we are anticipating another season of high demand games. To that end, we are doing everything possible to ensure a positive, efficient ticket buying process for Twins fans.”

In 2011, the Twins drew 3,168,107 fans to Target Field, the second most in club history. In 2010, the Twins set the all-time club attendance record by drawing 3,223,640 fans.

The Twins will mark their Target Field home opener April 9 with a game against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. The Twins will play two more games against the Angels on April 11 and April 12 before hosting their first home weekend series against the AL Champion Texas Rangers (April 13 – 15).

The Twins 2012 home interleague schedule features visits to Target Field by the Chicago Cubs (June 8 – 10), the Philadelphia Phillies (June 12 – 14) and the Brewers (June 15 – 17). Other home schedule highlights include a three-game series against the Boston Red Sox (April 23 – 25), a three-game series against the New York Yankees (Sept. 24 – 26) and a Memorial Day weekend homestand against the Detroit Tigers (May 25 – 27) and the Oakland Athletics (May 28 – 30).

The Twins standard variable pricing structure will apply to all single-game tickets sold February 25-March 8. Beginning March 9, the Twins will apply demand-based pricing to all seating sections of Target Field for the 2012 season. Demand-based pricing, which prices tickets according to fan demand, is a practice that is becoming standard across sports and entertainment industries. The system, which was implemented within two seating categories at Target Field in 2011, applies only to single-game ticket sales and does not affect Season Ticket Holder pricing.
